situation
The member dashboard was a vital tool for employer groups to manage their employees’ benefits, including tasks such as adding or removing members, modifying groups, adjusting price allocations, and viewing billing information. However, the existing dashboard had an outdated design, was difficult to navigate, and lacked intuitive functionality. These issues resulted in inefficiencies, user frustration, and a decline in platform engagement.

I was tasked with redesigning the member dashboard to address usability issues, modernize the interface, and enhance the overall user experience. The goal was to ensure the platform effectively supported employer groups’ workflows while increasing user satisfaction, platform adoption, and engagement.

I began by conducting user research, including interviews and surveys, to identify pain points and prioritize features. Insights from this research informed the creation of wireframes that outlined a more intuitive layout for core functionalities such as member management, billing, and group modifications. I developed interactive prototypes, tested them with users, and refined the designs based on their feedback.
The redesign introduced a cleaner, more organized menu system for quicker access to key features. I updated the interface with modern typography, color schemes, and responsive layouts to enhance accessibility across devices. I added real-time search and filtering tools to simplify member and group management, a bulk action feature for handling multiple tasks simultaneously, and detailed billing summaries with downloadable reports to improve transparency. Usability tests ensured the design met user expectations and optimized platform performance.
results
Employer groups provided positive feedback about the modernized interface. The addition of bulk action tools and real-time filtering minimized errors and accelerated administrative tasks. The updated design not only addressed immediate user needs but also positioned the platform for scalability, enabling future feature enhancements and long-term success.
